Reasons for a visit
What people come in for
This is what people tell us, not a list of what we treat. Under each one, what acupuncture does not do.
Stress around appointments
Waiting rooms, calendars and decisions add up. People come for one quiet hour that has nothing to do with a result.
It doesn't change what your doctor decides.
Sleep in a busy medical season
Early appointments, new medicines and worry can cut into nights. People come to rest and to talk through a routine.
It doesn't replace advice from your doctor on sleep or a sleep medicine.
Period pain and cramps
Many people come for the days around a period.
It doesn't tell you why the pain is there. Pain that is new or severe needs a doctor.
Tension in the neck, shoulders and back
Long hours at a desk, and tension from stress, show up here.
It doesn't replace an exam for pain that follows a fall or an injury.
Headaches
People come for tension headaches that return with busy weeks.
It doesn't replace a doctor's visit for a sudden, severe headache.
Care alongside a cycle at your clinic
Some people come while they are in a cycle with a reproductive clinic. We time visits to your clinic's calendar and, with your okay, keep your doctor in the loop. We make no promise about any medical result.
It doesn't replace any medicine, test or procedure your clinic plans.
What acupuncture does not do, and when to see a doctor instead
Acupuncture doesn't replace your doctor's care, a test, a medicine or a procedure. We don't tell you whether to start or stop anything. If you take a medicine, tell your prescriber and us.
See your doctor first, or call 911 in an emergency, for heavy bleeding, severe pain, pain on one side of the belly, fever, fainting, a sudden severe headache, or pain or bleeding if you are or might be pregnant.
